Do You Have Any Sealing We Can Help With?
NBR
Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) is a family of unsaturated copolymers of 2-propenenitrile and various butadiene monomers. This form of synthetic rubber is usual in being generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals. Acrylonitrile is the main content resistance to petroleum base oil and hydrocarbon which varies in commercial products from 18% to 50%. Normally, NBR could be curing by sulfur, peroxide, platinum.
Application
In normal / rising temperature, NBR rubber will increase the resistance of corrosion from oil. It is the reason NBR is wildly using in automotive industry especially in engine. In oil seals, NBR is common, as well.
General speaking, NBR components are easy corroded by ozone.
But our compounds can improve this cons.
NBR is also common in industrial usage from hydraulic cylinder, agriculture machine to excavator.
HNBR
Hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber
Hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) is a highly saturated elastomer obtained by special hydrotreating of nitrile rubber. Hydrogenated nitrile rubber has good oil resistance (good resistance to fuel oil, lubricating oil, aromatic solvent) and due to its highly saturated structure, it has good heat resistance and excellent chemical resistance. Freon, acid, alkali have good resistance), excellent ozone resistance, high compression set resistance; hydrogenated nitrile rubber also has high strength, high tear performance and excellent wear resistance. It is one of the most comprehensive rubbers.
Application
Hydrogenated nitrile rubber is widely used in petroleum, automotive industries, etc. HNBR also has good resistance for refrigerant (Freon) like R134a, R410a and R32.
VMQ
Polymerized siloxanes ( Silicone )
It’s kind of polymer between organic and inorganic. Silicone consist of an inorganic oxime bond skeleton and a branched organic group bonded by a covalent bond and a ruthenium atom. By controlling the length of the skeleton, the kind of the organic group, and the crosslinking of the skeleton, a hydrogenated polymer having different properties can be obtained.
Application
Silicone can stand for up to 300℃ and low to -100℃ by different formula. Silicone can be use in water sealing because of its hydrophobicity.
Non-conductive makes it use on electronic industry. Besides, after adding some conductive like carbon, it can have some electrical conductivity.
As a most stable rubber material, it’s wildly used in medical industry.
FKM
A family of fluoroelastomer materials
FKM is well known by DuPont(Viton®). Lots of people call FKM as “Viton” directly.
FKM parts contains 66% fluorine. Nowadays, there are several FKM compounding ingredients offer higher fluorinate content to 67-70%. These high fluorinate FKMs extends their working hour in solvent or high temperature. With certain compounding technology, FKMs can also woking up to 280 °C and constantly working at 250 °C without problem. The drawback is it cost than conventional FKM due to specialized ingredients, however, it is still very economic than FFKM.
Application
Owing to add fluorine atoms gives the excellent heat resistance, oxidation resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance and weather resistance. The good chemical stability of FKM, it can be
Some formula makes FKM work on 200℃~250℃ without aging. High vacuum equipment and spacecraft use FKM a lot.
EPDM
Ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber
Because its main chain is composed of chemically stable saturated hydrocarbons, it only contains unsaturated double bonds in the side chain.
EPDM is compatible with polar substances, e.g. fireproof hydraulic fluids, ketones, hot and cold water, and alkalis. It is incompatible with most hydrocarbons, such as oils, kerosene, aromatic, gasoline, as well as halogenated solvents. EPDM exhibits outstanding resistance to heat, ozone, steam and weather. It is an electrical insulator.
Application
It is excellent in weathering resistance, such as ozone resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance. It can be widely used in automotive parts, waterproof materials for construction, wire and cable sheathing, heat-resistant hoses, tapes, automotive seals and other fields. EPDM is also common material in water sealing.
FVMQ
Fluorosilicone
FVMQ O-rings have excellent properties of organic fluorine materials due to the introduction of fluorine-containing groups on the basis of maintaining the excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, high voltage resistance and weathering resistance of silicone materials. Hydrogen-resistant solvent, oil resistant, acid and alkali resistant and lower surface energy properties.
Application
Widely used in aerospace, automotive, machinery, petrochemical and other fields. For example, it is used as a dynamic sealing material for hydraulic systems and lubrication systems of aircraft; as a sealing material for oil fields, as a cable pipeline for oil fields, and as a drilling equipment; as a lining or resistance for equipment, flexible connections of pipes, pumps, etc. Corrosive sealing material, made into pipes for conveying or organic solvents or other corrosive media.
AFLAS®
AFLAS®is the tradename for a unique fluoroelastomer based upon an alternating copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and propylene (TFE/P)
Application
- excellent heat resistance with continuous service temperature capability of 230°C,
- chemical resistance including resistance to strong acids and bases,
- high electrical resistivity, and
- excellent oil resistance.
AFLAS® o-rings are preferable for use with petroleum fluids, brake fluids, engine oils, bases, phosphate esters, amines, steam and hot water, and pulp and paper liquids. AFLAS® o-rings are not preferable for use with aromatic fuels, ketones, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
ACM
Alkyl Acrylate Copolymer
ACM elastomers are primarily used where combined resistance to heat and oils is required. They are often a good alternative to more expensive heat resistant elastomers such as fluorocarbon polymers (FKM), silicones (VMQ) and fluorosilicones (FVMQ) for elevated temperature applications (< 150 °C).
Important manufacturers and suppliers of ACM rubbers are Zeon, and DuPont.
Application
Typical applications include automotive transmission components like seals and hoses that have to be resistant to hot oil, fuel and many other common automotive lubricants and hydraulic fluids. ACM elastomer have also found use in vibration damping due to its excellent resilience. Other applications include textiles, adhesives, and coatings.
PU
Polyurethane Rubber
Polyurethane elastomers (urethane elastomers) are one type of a large family of elastic polymers called rubber.
Polyurethane is a synthetic material that are available for making molds that are poured, brushed or sprayed onto a model.
Application
Polyurethane rubber materials are used in a number of applications, including gasket and sealing of a range of electronic devices. Urethane rubber offers excellent impact absorption, making it the ideal material for protecting the underside of electronic devices from impact and movement. In the case of bushings, spacers, and high load components, polyurethane is a good choice.
General uses: O-rings, gaskets, abrasion-resistant bearing set, sports accessories.
